Gradual Exposure Companion is a privacy-first exposure practice app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the app and the companion website.
We do not sell your personal information. The core app is designed to work without creating an account, and your practice entries are stored locally on your device.
Information We Process
1. Information you enter in the app (stored on-device)
Gradual Exposure Companion stores the information you enter in the app, such as exposure levels, attempts, notes, baseline information, and app settings. This data is stored locally on your device.
2. Device permissions (optional)
The app may request permission for:
- Notifications, if you enable reminders (used to schedule local reminder notifications)
- Biometrics / device authentication, if you enable App Lock (used to protect app access on your device)
3. Subscription and purchase information (if you use Pro)
If you purchase or restore a subscription, we use RevenueCat (and the Apple App Store / Google Play billing systems) to manage subscription status and entitlements. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide core app features (ladder, attempts, progress, tools)
- Save your preferences and reminder settings
- Enable optional App Lock on your device
- Verify and apply subscription access (Pro features)
Data Storage and Retention
App data is stored locally on your device unless and until you choose to export it. You control retention of local data by using the app’s export and reset features.
Notifications and App Lock
Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device when enabled. If App Lock is enabled, the app uses your device’s authentication mechanisms (for example, Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode) to restrict access to the app. We do not receive your device passcode or biometric data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your app entries or notes with third parties except as necessary to provide subscription functionality (for example, RevenueCat and app store billing services) or if required by law.
Data Export, Reset, and Deletion
You can export app data from the Settings screen. You can also reset the app and delete locally stored data from the Settings screen.
Children’s Privacy
Gradual Exposure Companion is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page.
